Gates To Report Sunday

Latest news from the San Diego Tribune has Antonio Gates reporting to Charger camp tomorrow (Sunday 8/21). But was placed on the inactive roster today for missing the 'deadline' established by the Chargers to report or be placed on the inactive roster which will have him miss the season opener (Link To Chargers Statement Regarding Antonio Gates Missing Deadline). Of course there is some 'stipulations' that could allow Gates to play.

Towards the end of the article is what I think is what I'm most interesting in hearing about.... that Gates wants a 3 year deal while the Chargers want a 6 year deal... and it sounds like the 6 year deal is what is going to come about and it's just a matter of money now....

So long story short is that Gates will be in camp tomorrow. Hopefully news of a new contract securing Gates for possibly the next 6 years shortly follows. Gates is dressed and starting all regular season games. Hopefully both sides are satisfied and Gates and the Chargers succeed for years to come...
