Gates Signs

AP article here details the Antonio Gates signing/story. Although Gates' agent may have originally thought that Gates' inactive status could be changed prior to the first game, allowing him to play, from everything detailed in this latest article seems to contradict that and it appears as if Gates will miss the first regular season game against Dallas.

Also, Gates' agent said that he/Gates is willing to negotiate a new contract up to that first game against Dallas, after that they will not. So there is still some hope that Gates could be secured for future seasons with the Chargers.
