Chargers-Rams Preseason Game II

Watched most all of the second preseason game (DirecTV - NFL Channel already paying off!) - Rams vs Chargers yesterday. Again, I preface my comments with that I really don't care about preseason...

Tomlinson carried the ball one time, but it was for a 55 yard touchdown...hopefully that will be the last preseason carry for him. It was good to see Kaeding off the schnide and make 2 field goals and hopefully his confidence will be restored. The offensive line has looked really good these 2 first preseason games...the 'other' Charger runningbacks had good runs themselves...Micheal Turner has looked pretty good as probably the backup to Tomlinson. Defense looked solid for the first half and wasn't until scrubs were put before the Rams were able to really put together any significant offense.

Antonio Gates reported and signed a contract today (Monday) one day after what was previously reported. And from what I've heard from Gates' agent is that Antonio will sign and play with the Chargers this year but probably won't be happy and won't be a Charger next season... which really sucks if this is true. Hopefully both sides can come to some agreement before this season ends, Gates' gets a nice contract and remains a Charger...but isn't sounding all that likely right now...
