Headlines - Bonds Signs, Long Goal

Barbaro put down. Last year's Kentucky Derby winner and many thought had a chance to win the triple crown (but isn't that always the case with the Derby winner?), was put to sleep. Barbaro broke his leg in last year's Preakness and most times the horse is put down at that time. But everything was tried to save Barbaro but with new ailments slowly consuming his rear feet the pain was too great for the horse. I really don't get too sentimental about horses and right now I really have an ambivalent feeling, but it did seem as if many people had a special connection for Barbaro and were pulling for his recovery even though he would never race again.

The T'Wolves stop the Suns? As I have mentioned before, I really don't watch too many NBA regular season games but with the Rangers-Bruins game a massive blowout I decided to check it out since the Suns are suppose to be the shiz-nit, winners of 17 games in a row, whereas the T'Wolves, from everything I've heard, should be fodder. But the T'Wolves not only beat the Suns, did so in non-buzzer beater fashion. And now the T'Wolves will go on to lose 5 straight to the weakest teams.

When UND left Minneapolis Saturday night after beating the Gophers - completing the weekend sweep - the team has to be fairly happy. But the big story was the rink-long shot that UND scored against the Gophers that has added the salt to the wound. In case you missed it, here it is:
