The Chargers, especially their offense, looked very vulnerable and could very well have lost the game to the Raiders and instead eek out a 21-14 win. Of course Tomlinson accounted for all 3 Charger touchdowns rushing for 2 and throwing for another.
All the media hype around this team of recent, with a lot of attention being given to Phillip Rivers over the past couple of weeks I think had Rivers a little over-charged. His passes all game long were not thrown very well, he would either overthrow his recievers or would try to run, both uncharactistic of the Rivers we have seen so far this year. The Raiders picked Rivers off once but could have easily been 3 dropping 2 Rivers passes that were literally thrown right to a Raider defender.
But the play of the game was easily Vincent Jackson's bonehead move in the 4th Quarter. With the Chargers down by 7, go for it on a 4th and 2. Vincent Jackson makes a 13 yard reception but thinking he is still playing at the University of Northern Colorado, flips the ball out in celebration but did so without being downed. So the Raiders jump on the ball and think they have just recovered a fumble...and you see it would have been too except thanks to the Raiders in 1978 and the "Holy Roller" play that helped the Raiders beat the Chargers back then...well, 28 years later the rule in place to prevent such a play again came back to bite the Raiders in the ass and the Chargers end up with the ball.
Bills are up next and Shawne Merriman will be back. Hopefully this last game was the worst we see the Chargers for the rest of the year.
And after watching that game ended up going to Sepultura...what a way to wrap up the Thanksgiving weekend...
