Landis Admits Doping

Well, well, well... Floyd Landis came out and admitted to using steroids now...

I had followed the whole Landis steroid case (You can type Landis in the search box or just click the 'Steroids in Sports' tag to the left to follow my reaction at the time) and when his case was tried, twice, and Landis lost in both cases I had already been swayed to know he was juicing.

So why is Landis coming out now and admitting he was cheating? Well, I'm guessing Landis is looking for some dough...a book deal or interview fees...why do I think this? Well of course Landis isn't going to go down alone...he is taking everyone down with him and of course America's biggest name in cycling, Lance Armstrong. Landis details his team's, which included Armstrong, blood doping routine for the 2003 Tour de France...he also details his extensive use of many steroids including HGH.

I have given Armstrong the benefit of the doubt...and continue to do so, for the most part, but when every other member on his US Postal team has been busted for cheating at some point in their career...I have begun to let doubt creep in and would not be surprised if Armstrong, at some point, eventually does admit or some actual tangible evidence is produced to prove his usage. But as I have said in the past, cycling was probably as bad, if not worse, for cheating than MLB during a period of time...we find out now that most of baseball's biggest stars were all cheating during the period of juicing in baseball, including the best pitcher (Clemens) and the best homerun hitters (Bonds, McGwire, Sosa). Anyone juicing during the roid era in baseball was untouchable...Lance Armstrong won every Tour de France during the roid era of cycling...I don't know how anyone could legitimately win against a field of cheaters...unless, of course, you were cheating as well...
