Chargers Are What We Thought They Were: Bad

The San Diego Chargers got absolutely destroyed by the Atlanta Falcons.  Was I surprised, no because prior to the season starting I had predicted the Falcon blowout.

This San Diego Charger team is a typical Norv Turner team a pretty good bad team.  Norv Turner has the team and the talent that can beat almost any below mediocre team in the NFL but also will get blown out by any team with any sort of competence.

A person doesn't have to go far to find out why the Chargers lost, it's the same reasons it always is when the team has been coached by Norv Turner.  Ryan Mathews fumbled inside the 10 yard line, like usual ... he will likely get hurt during the next game and be out until the season finale to run for 250 yards and 3 touchdowns.  Phillip Rivers is bad.  Whatever happened to him last year is still with him and what that is, is throwing up bad passes.  There are times I think he just drops back and throws the ball wildly...because that's what it looks like as he was good for 2 more interceptions this past game.  The Charger defense is horrendous...as expected.  The Falcons had no problems sustaining drives and moving the ball whereas the Chargers were a complete mockery on both sides of the ball.

Nope, no surprises here.  The Chargers have a game against KC next week, which I give them a 1 in 4 chance of winning.  The Chiefs will play hard coming off their first win against the Saints giving them a ton of confidence.  The Chargers will be threat to no one this season, as I expected.  Another wasted season under Norv Turner and AJ Smith.
